Lemon-Pepper Barbecued Chicken
8 Bone-in chicken breast halves
Lemon-Pepper Barbecue Sauce
Remove skin and remove fat from chicken. Coat each piece of chicken with about two tablespoons of Lemon-Pepper Barbecue Sauce.
Arrange pieces in single layer in large baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour. Makes 8 servings.
Lemon-Pepper Barbecue Sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons canola oil
1/4 cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon crushed dried basil
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon course-grind black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
Grated zest of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
