Favorite Meatloaf
11/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
2 eggs, beaten
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
1 teaspoon salt
Dash dried thyme, crushed
Dash dried marjoram, crushed
Combine all ingredients; mix well. Shape mixture into a loaf in a 12 x 7½ x 2 inch-baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for about 1¼ hours. During the last 30 minutes, spread the following sauce over the top. Let beef loaf stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Topping for Favorite Beef Loaf
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon mustard
Mix ingredients well and spread over beef loaf during the last 30 minutes of baking.
